Animal Collective

Most music listeners, astute or otherwise, have at this point heard of and subsequently formed their own opinions regarding Animal Collective. Unlike many others I did not love 2009’s Merriweather Post Pavilion and it is not my favorite Animal Collective record. I prefer 2005’s Feels , which I purchased based on my immense enjoyment of the song I am…read more

Not the best sound quality but great visual of the band down under in Western Australia last month. Check out their recent Brothersport video here. The band also performed at the Meredith Music Festival Down Under with one of our newest favorites The Middle East from Queensland. Dappled Cities – My Girls (Animal_Collective_cover) read more

Det här kära vänner är en riktigt bra remix. ETHEREA har tagit Animal Collective s College , demonterat den till molekyler och sedan monterat ihop en nästintill helt egen låt. NMB read more

Turns out Sondre Lerche and I have the same favorite Animal Collective song. He called “Bluish”, off of the widely acclaimed Merriweather Post Pavilion his favorite song of the year, and decided to show his love by giving us a cover. Instead of all the psychedelic swirls, Sondre stripped the song down to the basics and covers it only with his guitar and his voice. One of the things I dislike about Animal Collective is…read more

Animal Collective has had a wonderful 2009 to say the very least. It’s already been published but they own both the top song and the top albums of the year on some website named Pitchfork. While it can as unsurprising, the fact they released an EP, Fall Be Kind this year definitely is a welcome surprise. I personally still have issues with Strawberry Jam but the fact the remains there’s something quite appreciable with Animal Collective…read more

Well here are my top ten albums of the year. If you know me at all you will probably find my top five pretty predictable, but I’m fine with that. In retrospect I would say 2009 was a great year for music. Now it’s time to look ahead to 2010 and hope that it’s just as good, maybe even better. View Entries 10 – 1 after the jump… 10.
